About the Role
Provides orthopedic assistance to physicians in surgical, hospital, and clinic settings, supporting patient care through tasks such as assisting in surgeries, casting, splinting, rooming patients, seeing post-operative patients, wound dressing, patient education, and triaging calls.
Responsibilities
- Assist with orthopedic procedures
- Ensure sterile techniques are maintained
- Evaluate patient conditions
- Respond to emergencies
- Support clinical workflows
- Adhere to scope of practice and competency guidelines
- Utilize appropriate orthopedic equipment
Requirements
- Completion of a healthcare-related post-secondary program (e.g., RN, LPN, Surgical Technologist)
- CPR certification required
- Strong organizational, communication, clinical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in orthopedic care and OR environment preferred
