Orthopedic Assistant - Upper Extremity

About the Role

Provides orthopedic assistance to physicians in surgical, hospital, and clinic settings, supporting patient care through tasks such as assisting in surgeries, casting, splinting, rooming patients, seeing post-operative patients, wound dressing, patient education, and triaging calls.

Responsibilities

• Assist with orthopedic procedures
• Ensure sterile techniques are maintained
• Evaluate patient conditions
• Respond to emergencies
• Support clinical workflows
• Adhere to scope of practice and competency guidelines
• Utilize appropriate orthopedic equipment

Requirements

• Completion of a healthcare-related post-secondary program (e.g., RN, LPN, Surgical Technologist)
• CPR certification required
• Strong organizational, communication, clinical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience in orthopedic care and OR environment preferred
