Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

About the role

The Orthopaedic Spine Surgery team seeks an advanced practice provider in Lewistown, PA, to collaborate with physicians in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for new and established patients through evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests, prescribes medications, and adjusts therapies within the scope of practice.
• Performs procedures as permitted by license and reports significant findings to the collaborating physician.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, acting as a patient advocate.
• Safeguards patient safety and adheres to infection control protocols.
• Ensures accurate documentation and follows policies to meet clinical goals.

Requirements

• Must be able to see patients of all ages in a clinical setting.
• Education requirements include a Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or a Bachelor's/Preferred Master’s Degree as a Physician Assistant.

Qualifications

• Must have current licensure as an advanced practice provider in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Experience in orthopedic spine surgery is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
