Responsibilities
- Provides patient care in the Orthopaedic Clinic under the direction of the orthopaedic surgeon and PA-Cs to educate patients, to adjust, apply, and remove casts, braces, dressings, and splints, and to perform office procedures.
- Auxiliary in positioning the patient during surgical procedures.
- Knowledgeable about instruments, supplies, and equipment used during orthopaedic procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Graduate of a school for training as orthopaedic technician preferred
- Two to four years’ experience in an orthopaedic setting required
- Clinical experience as an orthopaedic technician (or a similar position) with emphasis on casting and fitting of braces and splints preferred
- Experience assisting in operating room under direction of a physician strongly preferred
Qualifications
- MA-R or MA-C required
- Orthopaedic Technologist Certification preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
Pay
Pay Range: $22.41 - $33.08
Union SEIU 1199-Service and Dietary Shift Differentials/Premiums
- Weekend & Holiday Shifts: No Shift Differentials
- Evening - $3.00/hour
- Night - $5.00/hour
- Weekend - $4.50/hour
- Per Diem - 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits)
- Lead - $3.25/hour
- On-Call - $3.00/hour
- Preceptor - $1.50/hour
- Trainer - $1.50/hour
