Responsibilities

• Provides patient care in the Orthopaedic Clinic under the direction of the orthopaedic surgeon and PA-Cs to educate patients, to adjust, apply, and remove casts, braces, dressings, and splints, and to perform office procedures.
• Auxiliary in positioning the patient during surgical procedures.
• Knowledgeable about instruments, supplies, and equipment used during orthopaedic procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Graduate of a school for training as orthopaedic technician preferred
• Two to four years’ experience in an orthopaedic setting required
• Clinical experience as an orthopaedic technician (or a similar position) with emphasis on casting and fitting of braces and splints preferred
• Experience assisting in operating room under direction of a physician strongly preferred

Qualifications

• MA-R or MA-C required
• Orthopaedic Technologist Certification preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified

Pay

Pay Range: $22.41 - $33.08

Union SEIU 1199-Service and Dietary Shift Differentials/Premiums

• Weekend & Holiday Shifts: No Shift Differentials
• Evening - $3.00/hour
• Night - $5.00/hour
• Weekend - $4.50/hour
• Per Diem - 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits)
• Lead - $3.25/hour
• On-Call - $3.00/hour
• Preceptor - $1.50/hour
• Trainer - $1.50/hour
