Essential Functions
- Diagnose and Treat Malocclusions: Examine patients' dental and skeletal structure to identify and diagnose alignment issues and develop treatment plans to address these concerns.
- Design and Implement Orthodontic Treatment: Use various orthodontic appliances, including braces and aligners, to correct bite issues, misaligned teeth, and jaw discrepancies.
- Maintain Accurate Patient Records: Document treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information in patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Monitor Patient Progress: Regularly assess the effectiveness of treatment plans, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal outcomes for each patient.
- Educate Patients on Oral Health: Provide guidance and education to patients and their families on maintaining oral health during and after orthodontic treatment.
- Collaborate with Dental Team: Work closely with dental assistants, hygienists, and other team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
- Ensure Patient Comfort and Satisfaction: Create a positive experience for every patient by addressing concerns, answering questions, and providing compassionate care.
- Stay Updated with Orthodontic Advances: Continuously update your knowledge and skills through continuing education and training to provide the best care possible.
- Stay Flexible: Be ready to handle additional tasks as required, adapting to the changing needs of the practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree with specialized training in orthodontics.
- Valid orthodontic license (state-specific requirements apply).
- Strong diagnostic and treatment planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
