About the Role
An Orthodontic Dental Assistant provides clinical support, patient care, and maintains a safe, hygienic environment in a team-based dental practice.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
- Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
- Ensure infection control, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records, scheduling, and documentation.
- Assist in managing dental and medical emergencies, maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience.
- X-Ray certification is required.
- Preferred: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Commitment to ongoing OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training.
Candidates should possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude to deliver excellent patient care in a modern dental environment.
