We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dedicated dental team at Taylor Dental and Braces. The role involves creating a smooth and comfortable environment for patients, supporting the dentist in clinical and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, ensuring comfort and addressing concerns.
  • Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures.
  • Assist the dentist through 4‑handed dentistry and ensure the dental room is well‑prepared for each procedure.
  • Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure all dental instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
  • Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post‑operative care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, assisting with charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments and keep the office running smoothly with minimal disruptions.
  • Keep the dental room clean, organized, and well‑stocked.
  • Perform non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting.
  • Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA) required.
  • Additional certifications such as EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) or Radiology Certifications are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Radiology Certification, or Dental Hygiene Assistant certification.
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus but not required.

Skills

  • In‑depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.
  • Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office.
  • Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other dental procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and providing clear instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team‑oriented mindset, working effectively in a collaborative environment.

Pay

$22‑$24 per hour.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 8 am – 5 pm; Friday, 8 am – 12 pm.
