We are seeking a motivated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dedicated dental team at Taylor Dental and Braces. The role involves creating a smooth and comfortable environment for patients, supporting the dentist in clinical and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check-ups, ensuring comfort and addressing concerns.
- Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures.
- Assist the dentist through 4‑handed dentistry and ensure the dental room is well‑prepared for each procedure.
- Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure all dental instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post‑operative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, assisting with charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.
- Assist in scheduling patient appointments and keep the office running smoothly with minimal disruptions.
- Keep the dental room clean, organized, and well‑stocked.
- Perform non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing, if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting.
- Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA) required.
- Additional certifications such as EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) or Radiology Certifications are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Radiology Certification, or Dental Hygiene Assistant certification.
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus but not required.
Skills
- In‑depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.
- Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office.
- Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) highly preferred.
- Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other dental procedures.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and providing clear instructions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Team‑oriented mindset, working effectively in a collaborative environment.

Pay

Schedule
Monday through Thursday, 8 am – 5 pm; Friday, 8 am – 12 pm.
