About the role

The Orthodontic Clinician II position at Smile Doctors is a dynamic role designed to support the delivery of high-quality orthodontic care under the direction and supervision of an Orthodontist. This position requires a strong foundation in orthodontic procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Place and remove orthodontic appliances, and take full records under the supervision of the Orthodontist
  • Accurately and efficiently perform procedures to maintain scheduled appointments and patient flow
  • Review patient charts, log appropriate patient data, and transcribe doctor notes
  • Perform laboratory procedures under supervision of an Orthodontist
  • Auxiliary in final checks on patients and managing patient flow
  • Manage the remote monitoring dashboard, including reviewing and triaging patient scans, responding to direct patient messages, and triaging notifications
  • Provide education on orthodontic care and remote monitoring to patients
  • Clean, sterilize, and prepare equipment and operatory following standard protocols
  • Assist in local store marketing and community events
  • Adhere to all infection-control policies and protocols

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of previous Orthodontic experience or six (6) months as a Smile Doctors’ Orthodontic Clinician ID
  • Dental Assistant certification if required by state Dental Board
  • Radiography certification if required by state Dental Board
  • CPR certification if required by state Dental Board

  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with patients and coworkers
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to prioritize patient care, manage schedules, and multi-task
