Haltom Orthodontics is a leading provider of orthodontic services in New Mexico. Founded in 1970 by Dr. Tucker Haltom and currently led by Dr. Darren Haltom since 2012, our practice has been serving New Mexico families for over 50 years.
About the role
We are seeking a motivated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for our patients while supporting high-quality orthodontic care. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our doctors and clinical team while ensuring patients receive outstanding care throughout their orthodontic treatment journey. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, attention to detail, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures and assist the doctor during treatment.
- Take diagnostic records, including photographs, impressions, and radiographs as permitted by state regulations.
- Provide patient education regarding orthodontic treatment, appliances, and oral hygiene.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
- Ensure operatories, instruments, and equipment are properly prepared, sterilized, and maintained.
- Support patient flow and help create an efficient, positive clinical experience.
- Travel to multiple office locations as scheduled to support patient care and operational needs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure exceptional patient service and clinical excellence.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred.
- DANB certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
- Ability to travel between office locations in Albuquerque, Los Lunas, Grants, and surrounding areas as scheduled.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a high level of patient care and professionalism.
