Department Overview

The Orthopedic Clinic provides a full range of services relating to musculoskeletal injuries and congenital disorders. Professional consultation, education, and outreach programs and services are available.

About the Role

Responsible for application, removal, and adjustment of casts and soft goods. This role assists the medical staff with orthopedic procedures to expedite the patient care process. Responsibilities include promoting patient education and safety, enhancing customer satisfaction, demonstrating understanding of resource utilization, and completing all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) Certification through the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals (ASOP) or Orthopedic Technologist Certified (OTC) through the National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologists (NBCOT)
• If not already certified, must agree to complete the ROT examination within 18 months of hire. To qualify for the exam, candidates must have one year of casting experience under a physician’s direction or six months of experience under the supervision of an ROT.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred
• Two years of experience in a healthcare setting working with patients and staff, providing assistance such as a Medical Assistant (MA), preferably as an Orthopedic Technician

Pay

The posted salary represents a market-competitive range based on benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries are based on full-time employment (40 standard hours per week); part-time salaries are prorated. Individual pay rates consider market indicators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, internal equity, and organizational needs.

Benefits

In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions requiring night, weekend, or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
