Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate, park-like setting. The facility features 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms, and four intensive care units. The Med/Surg 2 unit focuses on orthopedic, spine, urological, plastics, and other general post-surgical conditions. The unit is led by a clinical manager and lead charge nurse, who collaborate with a case manager, social worker, physical therapist, dietitian, and pharmacist to ensure high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose: Provides direct patient care to support licensed professional nurses.
Responsibilities: Implements direct patient care under supervision, promotes patient-centered care, administers or assists with ADLs, vital signs, falls and pressure ulcer prevention, urinary catheter care, phlebotomy, or point of care testing, collects clinical data, reports changes in patient status, assists with patient and family education, documents care activities, acts as patient safety sitter, ensures supply availability, participates in safety and quality initiatives, and engages in professional development.

- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: No Experience
- Supervisor Experience: No Experience
- Licenses & Certifications: Certified Nurse Assistant preferred
