Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate, park-like setting. The facility features 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms, and four intensive care units. The Med/Surg 2 unit focuses on orthopedic, spine, urological, plastics, and other general post-surgical conditions. The unit is led by a clinical manager and lead charge nurse, who collaborate with a case manager, social worker, physical therapist, dietitian, and pharmacist to ensure high-quality patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose: Provides direct patient care to support licensed professional nurses.
Responsibilities: Implements direct patient care under nurse supervision, promotes patient-centered care, administers or assists ADLs, vital signs, and other tasks, collects and reports clinical data, assists with patient and family education, documents care, acts as patient safety sitter, ensures supply availability, participates in professional development.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: No Experience
- Supervisor Experience: No Experience
- Licenses & Certifications: Certified Nurse Assistant preferred
