Oromo Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring an Oromo Interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Oromo and English speakers.
• Speak clearly and politely in both languages.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
• Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.
• Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
• Be available during work hours and follow client instructions.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Oromo and English with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged calls.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have access to a quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
• Must be able to operate a keyboard and mouse for long periods.
