Orientation Specialist

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all student and family orientation sessions (virtual and regional) across a designated cluster of schools.
  • Ensure a consistent, high-quality onboarding experience aligned with school expectations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and organization of student binders to support academic success and program compliance.
  • Monitor attendance and engagement for new student cohorts during the first 9 weeks across all assigned schools.
  • Track onboarding milestones and identify students at risk of disengagement early in the enrollment period.
  • Conduct outreach to students and families to address barriers and support successful school integration.
  • Implement early intervention strategies to improve student engagement and retention across the cluster.
  • Collaborate with school staff to align onboarding processes and ensure consistent student support across all sites.
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation, outreach efforts, and interventions.
  • Analyze onboarding and retention data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities across schools.
  • Develop and deliver regular reports on onboarding effectiveness and retention outcomes for each school and the overall cluster.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve orientation processes and early retention strategies.
  • Support continuous improvement of orientation materials, systems, and delivery methods across the cluster.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Student Services, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in student services, onboarding, education, or a related role.
  • Experience supporting multiple sites or schools (preferred).
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple schools and cohorts.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends related to student engagement and retention.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool, STARS, or similar).
  • Ability to build relationships with students, families, and school staff across multiple locations.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support both virtual and in-person events.
  • Valid state driver’s license.
