Organic and Medicinal Chemistry Internship

Role Description: ORGANIC AND MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY INTERNSHIPKalamazoo, MI Internship Summary:The intern will join a team of bench chemists within the Medicinal Chemistry group, contributing to the synthesis of novel drug analogs, troubleshooting synthetic challenges, and supporting the scale-up of promising drug candidates. This laboratory-based role will focus on analogue development and synthetic methodology, providing hands-on experience with industry-relevant medicinal chemistry practices and drug discovery workflows. Internship Job Duties:· Design, execute, and interpret complex organic chemistry experiments in a laboratory-based medicinal chemistry environment.· Document and communicate experimental results through written reports, data summaries, presentations, and discussions with colleagues Internship Qualifications:· Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program.· Strong foundation of organic chemistry knowledge with experience in an organic research laboratory (graduate research work).· A desire to spend most of the time at the bench running synthetic experiments.· Understand modern analytical methods such as HPLC/LCMS/NMR.· Creativity, autonomy, can-do attitude, and problem-solving abilities.· Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position: If the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $16.00 per hourIf the selected candidate is a student pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $22.00 per hourIf the selected candidate is a student pursing a Graduate-level degree: $32.50 per hourIf the selected candidate is a student pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $36.00 per hour The following hourly pay rates reflect the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois (Chicago area), Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington (Seattle area): Student pursuing an Associate-level degree: $17.00 per hourStudent pursuing an Undergraduate-level degree: $24.20 per hourStudent pursing a Graduate-level degree: $36.40 per hourStudent pursuing a Doctorate-level degree: $40.30 per hour About Zoetis At Zoetis, our purpose is to nurture the world and humankind by advancing care for animals.
