Organ Recovery Surgeon - Traveling - Nationwide
About the Role
Support and lead the Vituity HEART Thoracic Donor Organ Transplant Recovery Program, coordinating activities with medical teams to ensure compliance with regulations and promote quality assurance in thoracic transplantation. Conduct organ recovery of donor heart and lung grafts for thoracic transplantation. Collaborate with hospital staff, physicians, and transplant teams to optimize procedures and ensure adherence to policies, laws, and standards.
Maintain documentation, participate in inspections, and support quality improvement initiatives. Train nursing staff and clinical coordinators in transplant patient care, ensuring tissue typing and procurement services are available. Participate in hospital and medical staff committees related to thoracic transplant donor issues.

- Participate in quality assurance, research, and performance measurement efforts.
- Assist with training, policy review, and emergency preparedness planning.
- Engage in hospital and medical committee activities related to thoracic transplantation.
Requirements
- Board Certified/Eligible Thoracic Surgeon with a valid medical license in the U.S.
- Extensive experience in thoracic transplant surgery, including pre- and post-operative patient care and transplant procedures.
- Proven knowledge of UNOS policies, transplant program operations, and compliance standards.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development with CME requirements.
