Primary responsibilities
- Development and implementation of blast hole/ore control programs that reconcile well with mine models.
- Development and implementation of blast movement ore control programs in conjunction with operations personnel and engineers that result in improved mining compliance and delivery of ores to process.
- Development and implementation of geotechnical monitoring programs.
- Development and evaluation of resource models.
- Pit mapping and data analysis for both mine modeling and geotechnical evaluation.
- Maintenance of ground water management systems.
- Blast monitoring with respect to geologic structures.
- Monitoring and evaluating geological and assay data quality.
- Resource and mine production reconciliation studies.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of the principles and methods used in open pit hard rock mining.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with various individuals, crews, departments and organizational levels.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex or diverse information.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to assess risk in relation to occupational hazards and apply appropriate precautions and safeguards demonstrating a high level of safety leadership.
- FAA Drone Certification or the ability to pass the certification within first year of hire.
- Demonstrated ability and experience using mine modeling software; MineSight preferred.
