Geologist, Mining Services
About the role
AECOM is seeking a Geologist to join our West Region and support a diverse portfolio of mining and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment while gaining exposure to a wide range of geological settings, project types, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct geological fieldwork, including core and cuttings logging, site mapping, sampling, and field investigations in support of mining and infrastructure projects.
- Collect, compile, and analyze geological, geochemical, and geotechnical data to support project interpretation and decision-making.
- Support the development and refinement of geological interpretations, cross-sections, and conceptual models.
- Aid in resource modeling activities, data validation, and interpretation under the guidance of senior technical staff.
- Apply established procedures, standards, and best practices to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of geological data and deliverables.
- Assist with preparation of technical reports, figures, tables, and supporting documentation for client deliverables.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mining engineers, environmental scientists, geotechnical engineers, and planners.
- Support project teams with data management, document control, and coordination of technical inputs.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and internal reviews as required.
- Support adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related discipline and 4+ years of professional geological experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- 8+ years of experience supporting geological investigations for mining, infrastructure, or environmental projects.
- Demonstrated field experience, including geological logging, sampling programs, and site investigations.
- Strong data analysis skills with experience handling geological and geochemical datasets.
- Familiarity with geological modeling, data management, or visualization software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $72,000 to $100,000 per year.
