About the role

This position includes frequent stacking of cases onto pallets throughout the refrigerated warehouse using a lowboy forklift. Work is guided by a radio frequency (RF) scanner with system-generated work lists. The successful candidate will stack cases of finished beef and pork products with the goal of building full pallets.

Operating a forklift for gathering cases of beef/pork product in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from -10° to 30°F is a key part of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 70 lbs; occasionally up to 90 lbs
  • Stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, and reach for extended periods
  • Use a handheld scanner to track products as they are loaded, unloaded, and moved around the facility
  • Follow all Tyson policies and safety guidelines
  • Cross-train and move to other areas as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Must have 1 year of forklift and warehouse experience through a single employer in the last 5 years
  • Cold storage experience preferred
  • Must be willing to work in a cold environment (averaging 28°F, occasionally 0°F)
  • Full range of motion of arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, all digits, and legs
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods with a sense of balance
  • Must pass post-offer health assessment and drug screening
  • Must furnish own ANSI-rated steel or composite toe boots (75+ PSI) with slip-resistant soles covering the ankles

Environment

  • Operate powered industrial trucks (PIT), including stand-up forklifts and reach trucks, for up to 12 hours in damp and cold environments (-10° to 30°F)
  • Stand or walk up to 100% of the time
  • May be trained on cherry picker for additional tasks
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided after completing a 90-day probationary period

Schedule

  • Part-time: 29 hours per week
  • Friday–Monday, any hours between 6:00 AM–6:00 PM

Pay

Starting pay rate: $25.45/hour. Candidates may be eligible for attendance incentive and/or shift premium, depending on shift placement.
