Primary Responsibilities
- Read incoming pick tickets on digital displays to identify required products and quantities.
- Pick orders accurately while meeting daily productivity goals and quality standards.
- Verify products, quantities, lot numbers, and expiration dates when required.
- Stack and organize selected products on pallets according to size, weight, and handling requirements to maintain product quality and prevent shifting, crushing, or damage during transit.
- Perform visual inspections to verify orders are complete, accurate, and ready for shipment.
- Operate an automatic shrink-wrapping machine to securely wrap completed pallets and transport them to the designated loading or shipping areas.
- Report inventory discrepancies, damaged products, or missing items to the Lead, and assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment as assigned.
- Maintain cleanliness and handle food products in compliance with quality control procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and any other regulations to ensure the highest standards of food safety.
- Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, hairnets, face masks, and other safety gear, as mandated by OSHA and Company policies.
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively to support efficient and accurate order fulfillment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an order selector or in warehouse/distribution operations preferred.
- Experience utilizing warehouse management systems (i.e. WMS, SAP) and handheld RF scanning guns.
- Basic math skills.
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, and team-oriented skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced food production environment while maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
- Able to safely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Able to remain on feet for the majority of the shift while performing repetitive motions including reaching, bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing.
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices and applicable GMP, FDA and OSHA regulations.
- Ability or willingness to learn to safely operate warehouse equipment like electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
