Order Picking / Receiving Specialist

Description

Picking Position Summary: Identifying, selecting, and preparing lumber and building materials to fulfill customer orders for delivery or pick-up both manually and with the use of a forklift. This position is located at our Wendell branch location.

• Accurately select, assemble, stage, and label orders according to customer and company specifications, verifying the correct quantity of items are selected.
• Inspect materials for any defects or damage prior to loading on trucks for shipment, and promptly communicates any issues to management.
• Affords assistance in placing orders in customers vehicles, company vehicles, or company trailers.
• Completes “pick tickets” timely and accurately.
• Maintains organized and clean warehouse area.
• Affords assistance/perform duties of Receiving Specialist.

Receiving Position Summary

Receiving Position Summary: Receives, verifies, and inspects incoming shipments of lumber and other building materials.

• Receives incoming shipments of lumber and building materials, ensuring accuracy and completeness of deliveries by reconciling with internal purchase orders.
• Inspects received materials for damage, quality issues, and reports any concerns to the Operations management.
• Records and updates inventory levels in the system, maintaining accurate records of received materials.
• Organizes and stores received materials in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring efficient space utilization and easy accessibility.
• Captures coordination with Purchasing to resolve any shipment discrepancies or issues.
• Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
• Affords assistance in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to company safety protocols and procedures.
• Participates in periodic inventory counts and audits as required.
• Affords assistance/perform duties of Receiving Specialist.
