Order Picker - Talley

About the role

Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication and related supplies in the United States. The Order Picker function is an advanced position within the Operations department at Rexel’s Talley team in Woodridge, IL. In this role you will pick customer orders and internal material transfers in accordance with established procedures, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements, performing all duties with a high level of accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Pick customer orders of all types accurately and in a timely manner
• Determine if orders can ship via the manner indicated on the picking ticket and take necessary actions to resolve incompatible shipping methods
• Provide picked orders to the shipping team / will call support for outbound processing
• Apply analytic problem-solving skills to resolve day-to-day inventory issues that impact order-picking processes
• Participate in daily cleaning and upkeep of the facility
• Demonstrate strong work ethic and honesty; adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Engage with a high sense of urgency, remain highly organized and detail-oriented
• Be open to change and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations

Requirements

• 1-year warehouse experience
• High School diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to operate a standard and stand-up forklift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for long periods and bend and reach overhead
• Ability to work under deadline pressure with strong organizational skills to locate and provide merchandise quickly and accurately
• Experience using a handheld scanner
• Ability to read and write in English and perform basic math
• Customer service skills a plus
