Order Picker

About the role

Pulls merchandise from stock for high-volume business delivery orders, loads items on pallets, and operates a pallet jack to load delivery trucks while providing high-level member service.

Responsibilities

• Lifts pallets from low stacks and sets them on the floor; engages pallets with manual or electric pallet jacks.
• Performs daily safety checklist for electric pallet jacks prior to use; checks manual pallet jacks and pallets, tags any with defects, and uses proper lifting techniques.
• Obtains pick labels from the control desk, scans to initiate picks, and moves pallets through the warehouse to assemble orders.
• Checks each pull for correct item and quantity using the WM scanning system; ensures all items are in good condition.
• Enlists forklift drivers to drop full pallets from steel shelves for large quantity orders and spots for drivers to keep people out of fall-danger zones.
• Scans items, enters notes for approved substitutions and out-of-stock items, and lists short items via wrist scanner.
• Follows departmental procedures for paperwork and performance of duties; checks the computer to research missing items.
• Transfers completed orders to the dock area, places pick stickers on top of pallets, and maximizes picking efficiency based on store productivity goals.
• Operates a pallet jack to move completed orders into delivery trucks.
• Assists with departmental duties and other warehouse departments as necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
• Open availability to meet business needs.
• Proof of authorization to work in the United States upon hire.
