Order Handler

About the Role

Operates a variety of material-handling equipment such as order pickers, swing reach, carousel, and pallet trucks. Manages receiving, tagging, and movement of parts and stock throughout receiving, stockroom, and distribution areas. Consolidates loads for optimal space utilization and prepares shipments according to customer requests.

Responsibilities

• Deliver parts (including imports) to production cells and move units (including exports) from cells.
• Operate order pickers, swing reach, carousel, and lift trucks to pull or store parts, load/unload trucks, and handle stock.
• Receive incoming parts by verifying counts, performing computer transactions, and preparing documentation for movement to Inspection or other locations.
• Process inventory transfers, backflushes, and replenishments; perform computer transactions for parts and units moving in/out of stockroom, receiving, and shipping areas.
• Invoice, prepare labels, and perform UPS/FedEx transactions.
• Prepare and consolidate orders, including service orders, for shipment.
• Pull parts from floor carts and handle oil/aerosol products for shipping.
• Operate standup forklift, order picker, and sit-down forklift.
• Deliver product to drop locations in the shop and put away parts into 1C locations.
• Operate the carousel and pull product from 1C locations using RF Smart.
• Use RF Smart for pulling product, “bumping” inventory, invoicing, and printing labels.
• Pack parts for customer orders following established procedures.
• Break down skids on the receiving dock and put away parts from DHOLD1 using JDE and RF Smart.
• Consolidate orders for customers (stacking, wrapping properly).
• Print/reprint pick slips and handle “deliver to service” orders.
• Load trucks properly and add freight charges to invoices.
• Receive outside processing shipments (including backflush).
• Run Parts reports to ensure all parts are pulled and perform MSC/Grainger ASNs.
• Put away material from 1HRC0101 and pull lists for cells.
• Reverse PO receipts and run “hijunka” to ensure all orders are pulled.
• Receive shipments into JDE on the receiving dock and check in shipments (matching labels/packing lists).
• Consolidate shipments for international customers.
• Schedule Grainger shipments, close out BOLs, and process shipments in CH Robinson.
• Prepare customer BOLs using their instructions and complete export documentation.

Requirements

• High School diploma.
• Lift Truck License.
• Ability to operate computers, fax, copier, and other office equipment.
• At least one year of related experience to gain product knowledge.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and think independently.
• Mental/physical/visual acuity and ability to perform long-term repetitive work.
• Excellent decision-making, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Lifting requirement up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent basic math skills.
• Able to work at heights up to 30 feet and wear required safety constraints.
