About the role

Instructs classes in band or orchestra so that students develop skills in instrumental technique and music reading.

Responsibilities

• Works with area colleagues to administer beginner programs at Schirle and Sumpter Elementary Schools
• Administers and develops the curriculum in both schools
• Teaches beginner students in orchestral strings
• Provides a solid technical foundation to beginning students

Requirements

• Deep experience in at least one orchestral stringed instrument
• Good working knowledge of all orchestral stringed instruments
• A strong pedagogical foundation
• A strong desire to work with young students

Qualifications

• Eligible for the elementary instrumental differential

Skills

• Ability to teach beginner students
• Ability to provide a solid technical foundation to beginners
