About the role
The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District is seeking a passionate, dynamic, and highly skilled educator to join our distinguished, high-performing Fine and Performing Arts Department as a full-time, tenure-track Elementary Orchestra Teacher at James H. Vernon School for the 2026–2027 school year, effective August 31, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Direct large instrumental ensembles (Orchestra)
- Conduct small-group instrumental lessons
- Teach foundational music theory
- Prepare students for festivals
Requirements
- Valid New York State Music Certification (K–12)
- Proven experience directing Orchestra ensembles preferred
- Demonstrated familiarity with NYSSMA rules, manual requirements, sight-reading preparation, and NMEA All-County preparation preferred
