About the role
This opportunity is to manage a farm that grows pecans and satsumas.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of a 100-acre pecan and satsuma farm
- Oversee irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting
- Coordinate with contractors for equipment maintenance and repairs
- Supervise seasonal workers and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Monitor crop health and implement corrective actions as needed
- Manage budget and track expenses related to farm operations
- Plan and execute long-term orchard development and improvement projects
Requirements
- Experience in pecan and/or citrus orchard management
- Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilization, and integrated pest management
- Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Willingness to live on-site in provided housing
