Orbit Analyst
Key Responsibilities
- Performing orbit analysis, orbital determination and analysis functions
- Generating and providing daily orbital data to execute numerous satellite contacts
- Performing orbital engineering tasks required to support launch operations including sensor coverage and telemetry collection planning using link margin analysis and other tools, predicting trajectory and estimating the final orbit
- Ensuring mission success by participating in program to customer interface requirements definition
- Interfacing with external customers to maintain tracking station location, obscura, and Transmit Inhibit Zone data
- Participating in testing efforts of newly upgraded tracking stations
- Participating in customer education of basic astrodynamics
- Supporting and performing future OA software and hardware upgrades leading to the automation of many of the OA functions supporting both daily OA activities and OA launch support activities
Qualifications
- Clearance: TS/SCI with a Polygraph
- Education: Bachelor’s STEM degree with 0 years' experience or High School Diploma with 3 years of Orbital mechanics experience
- Time Management: Ability to identify and achieve multiple milestones spread across various calendars and schedules
- Process Ability: Create and follow standard processes and clearly document results
- Problem Solving in Critical Situations: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, demonstrated by frequent and successful application of technical standards, theories, concepts, and techniques
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interface effectively with users, customers, management, and other engineering personnel
- Scheduling: Ability to occasionally work odd and/or extended hours covering a 24/7 period, particularly during launch operations
- Evaluating Technology: Ability to evaluate established and emerging technologies for applicability to architectural initiatives
- Project Life Cycle: Experience in executing the project life cycle of requirements analysis, design, hardware and/or software development, integration, test, and sustainment
- Understanding Customer Products: Experience in evaluating viability of vendor and government-provided HW/SW as part of technology/product trade studies
- Operational Procedures: Ability to develop and maintain operational procedures, products and training materials
- Communications Topologies: Knowledge of communications (network and RF) topologies, including SGLS, K and X band design
- Satellite Command and Control: Knowledge and experience with satellite command & control theories and methodologies
Basic Compensation
$74,900 - $138,400 USD annually
Additional Compensation
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
