Orbit Analyst

Duties

• Maintain the flow of input data from the DoD, satellite owner/operators, and commercial SSA data providers into the TraCSS system.
• Perform propagation and conjunction assessment processing.
• Format and deliver Conjunction Data Messages (CDM) and other products to TraCSS users and the space community.
• Respond to operational issues relating to space traffic coordination and technical issues associated with the OSC Operations Center or the TraCSS system.
• Ensure the safety and stability of the space operating environment by taking appropriate actions to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with DoD, satellite owner/operators, TraCSS System Integrator and Presentation Layer vendors, and other stakeholders as required.
• Develop and evolve TraCSS to ensure procedures, operational displays, and job aids are in place for operational needs, technical troubleshooting, and coordination with owner/operators.
• Participate in the development of training materials and training activities to support onboarding of members of the government and commercial satellite operational teams.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Computer Science, or related field and at least 1 - 4 years of experience related to flight dynamics, orbital mechanics
• Associate's Degree in Engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Computer Science, or related field; 3-8 years of experience related to flight dynamics, orbital mechanics
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Knowledge of space domain awareness, space situational awareness (SSA), space traffic coordination (STC), or space traffic management (STM) related topics
• Current DoD, DOC, NOAA, or NASA authorization to work (badge)
• Experience performing shift work
• Experience working in support of a U.S. government institution
• Use of Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket and other Atlassian platform tools
• Coding skills to develop or modify job aid tools
