About the Role

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMFS) is a dental specialist who supports Willamette Dental Group’s evidence-based treatment philosophy, mission, vision, and core values by diagnosing and treating diseases that involve the head, face, jaw, neck, and sinuses. The OMFS extracts teeth that are impacted, infected, or damaged by disease. They perform biopsies, bone grafts, sinus surgeries, surgery to support orthodontic treatment, as well as periprosthetic surgery. The OMFS provides varying levels of anesthesia, including local, nitrous oxide, minimal and moderate sedation, and general anesthesia.

Responsibilities

  • Embody Willamette Dental Group’s treatment philosophy, mission, and values and ensure they are portrayed throughout the practice.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, at the highest available scope of licensure per the applicable state’s Dental Practice Act.
  • Serve as a resource for other practitioners in the company regarding the management of medically complex and surgically complex patients.
  • Assist with coordinating multiple schedules during the workday to ensure patients have appropriate access to care, exceptional patient experiences, and proactive workload management.
  • Ensure quality care and adherence to the company treatment philosophy by reviewing data from dashboards, specialty referrals, and EV Reports, and provide counseling as needed.
  • Adhere to office strategic goals, economic value reports, Press Ganey metrics, and access standards.
  • Embrace Press Ganey and patient transparency, prioritizing the patient experience.
  • Obtain and maintain Nitrous Oxide credentials and/or other forms of sedation.
  • Strictly adhere to OSHA and bloodborne pathogens policies.
  • Follow FDA and ALARA principle guidelines when taking intra-oral and panoramic radiographs.
  • Diagnose and treat dental issues related to disease, malformations, and injuries, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Strictly adhere to Willamette Dental Group’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy, including the use of N95 respirators and other PPE as required.

Requirements

  • Degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and/or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
  • Successful completion of a traditional pre-doctoral dentistry program and valid licensure in the specific state(s) where practicing.

Qualifications

  • Licensed as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).
  • Licensed as a Doctor of Medicine (MD), when applicable.
  • DEA registration.
  • Maintenance of BLS certification.
  • Actively seeking or has achieved board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • At a minimum, maintains state board’s equivalent of a minimal sedation permit.
  • Maintains appropriate certifications to support the provider’s anesthesia permit (e.g., ACLS, PALS).

Pay

Guaranteed earnings: $300,000 (based on number of days worked per week). Projected earnings: $520,000 (based on production, number of days worked per week, and location(s)). The actual base pay offered will be based on multiple factors, including education, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for incentive pay in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.

Schedule

4-10 hour shifts per week.

Physical Requirements

The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing but requires occasional walking, bending, stooping, and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies. The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.
