About the role
Parsons is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to join our Federal Solutions team. In this role, you will configure, maintain, and administer application-specific databases, ingest data from both internal and external sources, and present that data for analytics and business intelligence purposes.
Responsibilities
- Manage provisioned data warehouse and application databases in an Oracle Exadata Cloud Services environment.
- Perform daily database administration functions, including developing queries and reports based on customer requirements, modifying or creating database views, and managing backup and recovery operations.
- Monitor database performance, publish daily performance metrics, and resolve database issues that impact application performance.
- Apply vendor-provided updates to database tables and schemas.
- Manage and configure Oracle APEX to support multiple mission-critical applications.
- Design logical data relationships and query structures based on customer requirements, considering factors such as access methods, access frequency, storage media, data volatility, query requirements, and operating environments.
- Evaluate data sets and engineer solutions for integration into the Data Warehouse.
- Develop, sustain, and maintain user manuals and instructions to guide customers in executing data access functions, such as running queries and reports.
- Participate in multi-functional teams and manage work through JIRA.
Requirements
- An active Top-Secret security clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an SCI.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CI POLY.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant work experience.
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience with Oracle APEX and ORDS applications.
- Demonstrable proficiencies in SQL and SQL Plus languages.
- Experience managing Oracle databases.
Desired Skills
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Skilled in analyzing and improving database performance and scalability.
- Database Security Best Practices: Knowledge of role-based access, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Linux/Unix Environments: Comfortable navigating and scripting in command-line environments.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery Planning: Familiar with RMAN, Data Guard, and other backup/recovery strategies.
- Scripting and Automation: Experience with tools like Bash, Python, or Ansible for task automation.
Pay
Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $196,400.00
