OR Technician

About the role

Under direct supervision, the OR Tech supports the department of Surgical Services in the provision of patient care by coordinating surgical instrumentation and performing scrub technologist activities. This position requires active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC-Anaheim Regional Medical Center and demonstrating behavior consistent with the organization’s Core Values.

Responsibilities

• Provide organizational, communication, and assistive skills to facilitate the flow of surgical services activities.
• Ensure availability and proper maintenance of surgical instrumentation and supplies.
• Adhere to principles of asepsis, policies, and procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures.
• Provide support to patients, visitors, physicians, staff, and ancillary personnel.
• Support the strategic plan, performance improvement initiatives, and organizational expectations including customer service, patient’s rights, confidentiality, and environment of care.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of related experience in an acute surgical setting preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program, military training program, or equivalent formal training program required.
• Expertise with instrument processing and asepsis.
• Knowledge of sterility standards, AAMI, and AORN.

Qualifications

• Current BLS-HCP (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers).
• Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
