About the role

We are looking to hire a Surgical Technician, CST. As a Surgical Technician, CST at MercyOne, your functions in the scrub role during intraoperative patient care, performed as a delegated technical function under the direct supervision of the perioperative Registered Nurse. Provision of care is consistent through adherence to standards and support of the philosophies of Genesis Medical Center. Department: Operating Room.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub role during intraoperative patient care.
• Function as a delegated technical function under direct supervision of the perioperative Registered Nurse.
• Adhere to standards and support the philosophies of Genesis Medical Center.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; completion of a surgical tech apprenticeship or military program.
• Or graduate of an LPN program with surgical experience; or equivalent experience to demonstrate competency.
• CST certification preferred but not required in Iowa; CST certification required if working in Illinois.
• LPN license required if you are a graduate of an LPN program.
• No prior experience required.
• BLS certification.
• Mandatory Reporter training.
