About the Role

Under the supervision of the Radiology Director, Medical Director, and Radiology Manager, this position operates radiologic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Physician. Fifty percent of the time involves performing fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures in surgery, while the other fifty percent includes a wide variety of imaging procedures for inpatients, ER, and outpatient services.

Responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures to meet accrediting agencies' regulations and laws, interfacing with departments, physicians, patients, families, and visitors, and performing duties of a radiologic technologist, including call rotation coverage. The role also involves assisting radiologists and other technologists with exams and procedures as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs.
  • Perform fluoroscopic and radiographic procedures in surgery (50% of time).
  • Conduct imaging procedures for inpatients, ER, and outpatient services (50% of time).
  • Assist with implementing policies and procedures to comply with accrediting agencies' regulations.
  • Interface with departments, physicians, patients, families, and visitors.
  • Perform radiologic technologist duties, including call rotation coverage.
  • Assist radiologists and other technologists with exams and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, American Medical Association, or other accrediting agencies.
  • Current license with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts (temporary or permanent) required upon hire.
  • Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Knowledge of radiology operations related to radiographic imaging of surgical procedures, including sterile technique, radiation safety, CR/PACS, and C-arm merge boxes.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 1-year related work experience as a Radiologic Technologist in the Operating Room.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to train, maintain competence, and confidence in radiologic technologists and students working in the operating rooms.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals, including physicians.
