Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the OR area including Central Sterile.
- Evaluates nursing activities to ensure proper patient care and staff relations.
- Captures patient care efficiency in the ORs.
- Captures coordination with business office, pre-op, ORs, and post-op.
- Captures coordination with Materials Manager for equipment, special equipment, and supplies.
- Captures coordination with physicians, medical staff, and the clinical director.
- Captures coordination with onboarding and orientation of new employees.
- Captures oversight of environmental hazards and participation in emergency preparedness processes and drills.
- Captures implementation of safe practices and provision of guidance and evaluation of hazardous materials, waste management, emergency preparedness, infection control, safe use of medical equipment, and supplies.
- Captures participation in review and revision of policies and procedures at the Surgery Center.
- Captures assistance with interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, and training of staff.
- Captures communication with surgeons and anesthesia to address issues quickly and appropriately.
- Captures oversight of all OR equipment training, maintenance, repair, and communication of needs and updates to administrative leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Summary
- This is a full time position, Monday through Friday.
- No nights, weekends, or on-call.
- The manager is responsible to make sure OR surgery staffing, supplies, and equipment are available for scheduled surgeries.
- The manager is a professional with proven but flexible strategies to allow for continued growth and expansion for the business.
- The manager should be able to solve problems quickly and effectively using experience and skills to deal with staff at all levels within the organization.
Required Skills
- Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current Florida RN License.
- 3-5 years experience in surgery as circulator.
- Two (2) years experience in surgery management which includes pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care.
- CNOR preferred.
- Independent decision making skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
- Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians.
