OR Instrument Tech - Prairie Star Surgery Center

Responsibilities

• Assembles and accurately arranges instrument trays.
• Sterilizes instruments following established protocols.
• Returns sterile instruments to their designated locations.
• Stocks and maintains patient care equipment.
• Manages the decontamination process for surgical instruments.
• Communicates with operating room staff to assist with instrument turnovers.
• Handles the cleaning and sterilization of vendor instruments.
• Supports operating room staff with patient positioning and transportation.
• Maintains inventory and orders supplies as needed.
• Makes sure sterilization equipment is functioning properly.
• Adheres to safety and infection control policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Able to accurately identify instruments [Required]
• Able to operate Steam Sterilizers [Required]
• Able to operate Washer Disinfector [Required]
• Able to accurately read and document Biological results. [Required]
• Accurately clean patient care equipment [Required]
• Able to accurately identify specialty instrumentation [Preferred]
• Able to accurately process complex instrumentation [Preferred]

Qualifications

• Associate [Preferred]
• Graduate of a Technical School [Preferred]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Understanding of hospital and operating room procedures
• Ability to follow detailed instructions

Pay

$17.52 - $28.04 per hour
