POSITION SUMMARY

Focus Interpreting is seeking an Oregon Court Certified English - Spanish Interpreter to provide professional interpretation services in courtrooms across Oregon.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide court-certified interpretation services in various legal proceedings, including hearings, trials, and other court events
• Maintain strict adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality requirements
• Accurately interpret legal terminology and proceedings between English and Spanish in real time
• Prepare for assignments by reviewing case materials and becoming familiar with relevant legal vocabulary
• Collaborate with court personnel and attorneys professionally and courteously
• Stay informed about changes in laws and best practices in court interpretation

REQUIREMENTS

• Fluency in English and Spanish with excellent verbal communication skills
• Valid Court Certification for Spanish interpretation in Oregon is mandatory
• Comprehensive knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures in both languages
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain composure during legal proceedings
• Previous experience as a court interpreter is preferred
