About the role

The successful candidate will lead the Dermatology department at Optum Massachusetts, a division of Atrius Health and Reliant Medical Group, located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver high-quality, patient-centric, and safe care to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the clinical leadership team to address site and specialty clinical issues, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Communicate strategic goals with departments across Optum Massachusetts to foster understanding and alignment.
  • Review and interpret practice management and clinical quality data, implementing solutions to address identified issues.
  • Implement cost-saving measures and maximize the use of organizational resources, including Care Improvement technologies.
  • Energize the staff towards new initiatives and encourage their involvement and creativity in achieving departmental objectives.
  • Lead the implementation of Care Improvement (LEAN) initiatives and standard work processes within the department.
  • Model organizational expectations of Service Excellence and engage in effective measures to maintain high patient satisfaction.
  • Optimize relationships with local hospitals and community providers to ensure patients have access to high-quality care.
  • Represent the department in various specialty and site venues as needed.
  • Maintain an active clinical practice at Optum Massachusetts.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Engage staff in developing effective working relationships within the department and manage conflicts.
  • Serve as a supervisor for a group of clinical staff, collaborating with other clinical and non-clinical staff, including Supervisors and Site Administrators.
  • Support personalized career development for all clinicians in the department, arranging work and educational opportunities to meet career objectives.
  • Ensure adequate clinical office and on-call coverage for the practice, assessing staffing needs and making recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Licensed in the State of Massachusetts as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) and Board Certified.
  • Additional degree(s) in business administration, public health, or clinical operations is desirable.
  • 3+ years of clinical leadership experience is preferred.
