OPTOMETRIST - Iowa - Vision To Learn - supporting the under-resourced pediatric population (IA-5, Des Moines, IA, USA)

About the role

Vision To Learn is seeking a qualified candidate for an optometrist licensed to practice in Iowa. This position will be part-time and work on a mobile clinic, requiring flexibility to commute throughout portions of Black Hawk, Dubuque, Jones, Marion, Polk, and Scott Counties.

Responsibilities

• Provide vision evaluations: check VA’s, assess binocular vision, IOP, pupils, perform a full refraction and prescribe appropriate correction, and assess ocular health
• Prescribe vision devices
• Test patients on all applicable equipment to determine the most suitable device for their condition
• Instruct patients on the proper use of prescribed devices
• Confirm that patient diagnoses are properly documented in internal systems

Qualifications

• Iowa Optometry License
• Proven track record for quality patient care
