POSITION SUMMARY

This position examines, diagnoses, treats and manages diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures. This position prescribes eyeglasses and/or contact lenses as necessary and identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Graduate from an accredited School of Optometry
• Licensed as an optometrist in the State of Hawaii
• 2 years’ experience in optometric patient care, preferred

• Operating varied office equipment
• Communicating clearly both orally and in writing
• Understanding verbal and written communications
• Performing complex mathematical calculations
• Handling multiple tasks at one time
• Interpreting and applying guidelines and procedures
• Acting calmly and tactfully in stressful or confrontational situations
• Working in a high-volume, sometimes stressful environment
• Being accurate and attentive to detail
