Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams and assess visual health and prescriptions.
- Diagnose, manage, and treat common eye conditions and refer complex cases.
- Prescribe lenses, contact lenses, and relevant optical devices.
- Meet and track individual and clinic-wide performance targets.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document clinical findings in EMR.
- Engage in pipeline and territory planning to grow patient base.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with optometry practices.
- Serve as a liaison between patients and the medical team, providing exceptional patient experiences to enhance satisfaction and repeat visits.
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote services and promotions.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of merit-based advancement.
Requirements
- Hold valid optometry license and malpractice insurance with no active sanctions.
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and refractive assessments with accuracy.
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions; refer complex cases appropriately.
- Meet and contribute to clinic-wide and individual performance targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards on-site.
- Prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and ocular devices per standards.
- Maintain EMR documentation with completeness and compliance.
- Engage in territory and pipeline planning to grow patient base.
- Educate patients on eye health, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Participate in continuing education to stay current with optometry practices.
Qualifications
- Experience in optometry, including comprehensive eye exams and refractive assessments.
- Proven ability to diagnose and manage common eye conditions and refer complex cases.
- Strong record of meeting and exceeding performance targets.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory standards applicable to optometry practice.
- Ability to maintain accurate and compliant EMR documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with patients, medical team, and sales/marketing teams.
- Passion for mentoring and contributing to a culture of merit-based advancement.
