Optometrist

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect any underlying eye conditions.
• Prescribe corrective lenses or medications as needed.
• Perform specialized tests to evaluate depth perception, color vision, and peripheral vision.
• Diagnose and manage conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
• Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and optical principles.
• Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and aseptic techniques.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems and medical coding.
• Understanding of medical terminology, particularly in the field of ophthalmology.
• Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
