About the role
We are seeking a part-time Optometrist (3 days per week) to provide general optometry services to residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long-term care facilities in Wausau, WI, and surrounding areas, including Wisconsin Rapids, Peshtigo, Stevens Point, and Rhinelander.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
- Diagnose and treat ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.
- Examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
- Identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
- Enter patient information and complete required clinical documentation in our cutting-edge EMR system.
- Travel daily to skilled nursing facilities as part of a mobile treatment model.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.).
- State professional license.
- Valid driver’s license.
- TPA certified/Legend Drug Certificate.
- Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to use email, the internet, and learn other healthcare-related software.
