Optometrist

About the role

HealthDrive is currently seeking an Optometrist to work Part Time or Full-time (2-5 days per week) covering work sites across North Detroit/Eastern, MI and the surrounding areas. A $10k Sign On Bonus is available at 5 days per week, prorated for part-time. The position offers the opportunity to earn $700+ per day via an uncapped production-based pay structure.

Responsibilities

• Provide general optometry services to residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long-term care facilities within an assigned territory.
• Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
• Diagnose and treat ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.
• Examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases, injuries, and disorders of the visual system, the eye, and associated structures.
• Identify related systemic conditions affecting the eye.
• Enter patient information and complete required clinical documentation in the EMR system.
• Mobile model treatment of patients requires daily travel to skilled nursing facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Optometry (O.D.)
• State professional license
• Valid driver’s license
• TPA certified
• Ability to work independently on a daily basis
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to use email, the internet, and to learn other healthcare-related software
