Optometric Technician - Part Time - Washington, PA

The Optometric Technician at LensCrafters is responsible for creating exceptional value in the lives of patients by delivering the LensCrafters Experience. Key responsibilities include:

• Greet patients promptly with a smile
• Answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner
• Avoid delays in patient examinations by performing tasks such as obtaining medical history and preparing patients for exams
• Think out loud, asking open-ended questions about the patient's situation and needs
• Accurately perform tests to aid the optometrist in diagnosing and treating patients
• Show patience and courtesy to difficult customers
• Ensure all patient records are filed and maintained in accordance with HIPAA
• Place contact lens trial orders and ensure no expired contacts are used
• Input customer/patient data, insurance information, and eye care services into the CIAO system with accuracy
• Support the optometrist by providing clinical support as needed
• Maintain the exam rooms and contact lens area in a safe and organized manner
• Assess and handle various examination scenarios with ease
• Provide coaching and guidance to patients on the care and handling of contact lenses
• Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and contact lenses
• Support retail operations as needed

Qualifications include:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• At least one year of strong customer service skills
• Leadership and problem-solving abilities
• Basic math skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in retail and/or optical settings
• Experience in healthcare
