About the role
This dynamic role involves preparing patients for eye examinations, performing preliminary and specialized tests, assisting doctors during exams, coordinating patient schedules, and maintaining a clean, organized clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of preliminary testing procedures.
- Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
- Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
- Cook up patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
- Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
- Provide a safe, clean, organized, and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
- Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctors.
Requirements
Physical demands: Physical activity includes standing for sustained periods of time, stooping, grasping, lifting, talking, and hearing. Physical requirements include light work, the ability to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead. Visual acuity is necessary to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
