About the role

We are seeking a Licensed Optician / Optical Consultant to support our practice. Key responsibilities include accurately filling ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions, fitting and adapting lenses and frames, and training patients on lens care. Additionally, the role involves adjusting eyewear to fit the patient and conducting optical repairs.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions
• Fitting and adapting lenses and frames
• Training patients on lens care
• Adjusting eyewear to fit the patient
• Conducting optical repairs

Requirements

• Exceptional customer service with a smile

• Ability to learn new things
• Knowledge on reviewing patient information, explaining charges, and answering questions
• Previous Inside Sales Experience
• Proficiency in technology
• Ability to speak a second language (a plus)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Some college preferred
• College degree, in the process of achieving a degree, or equivalent work experience
• Experience in an optical/medical environment and knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
• ABO certification (preferred)

Background Screening Requirement

Licensed Opticians must pass a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse.
