Optician

Position Summary

The Licensed Optician position is responsible for merchandising, selling, and eyewear services. Responsible for pre-testing on patients. Makes recommendations about which type of frames or lenses will be best for a particular patient.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Eyewear sales
• Finish lab
• Ensure accurate patient information is obtained
• Ensure that correct products are created per specifications per order
• Able to make recommendations based on prescription, and latest fashion trends and patients’ needs
• Able to manage and lead a team of sales associates
• Compliance with Designer Eyes’ policies and procedures
• Compliance with HIPAA guidelines
• Performs eyewear maintenance as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)

• Licensed Optician in the State of Florida
• Applicants must have experience in an optical or eye care practice
• Knowledge of current ophthalmic products and optical measurements required
• At least two years of experience in industry
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, bilingual in Spanish will be a plus
