Kelly Services is currently seeking an Optical Tooling Tech for one of our top clients in Jacksonville, FL.
Position Summary
Under general supervision, performs all responsibilities necessary to operate, troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain the diamond turning lathes and metrology equipment.
- Tooling Insert production
- Throughput/Yield Quality
- Tooling Insert metrology
- Operate, troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain the diamond turning lathes and metrology equipment
- Perform a variety of tasks needed to monitor and adjust the process to improve quality
- Assist with Preventative Maintenance of equipment
- Monitor equipment and process status for new products
- Perform routine cleaning and non-routine maintenance with adherence to all safety policies and procedures
- Monitor and adjust the process to improve throughput
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the equipment while adhering to all safety procedures in the Optical Tooling area
- Perform routine cleaning and clearing of equipment
Essential Functions / Responsibilities

Qualifications
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 1–2 years maintenance or machine operations desired
- Good mathematical skills
- General knowledge and troubleshooting skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Process improvement
- Electro/mechanical devices
- Safety devices
- Equipment installation
- Debug and qualification
- Electro-mechanical troubleshooting/repair
- Production start-up
- Equipment process development
- Mechanical devices controller
- Troubleshooting of equipment
- CNC Machining knowledge preferred
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Office equipment used: personal computer, printer, copier, Microsoft Office Suite, other software as required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Basic hand tools
Physical Demands
Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, light lifting up to 25 pounds, grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, fingering, and climbing.
Work Environment
Inside environmental conditions: in an air-conditioned manufacturing environment.
