About the role
The Optical Technician will contribute to a high-quality Total Patient Experience, enhancing retail sales while supporting patients' medical needs.
Responsibilities
- Execute the Total Patient Experience to build strong patient relationships and provide excellent medical support
- Determine patient needs and sell products to meet their expectations
- Select frames based on style and color, ensuring they align with facial and eye measurements and prescriptions
- Educate and recommend specific lenses, coatings, and frames tailored to patient needs
- Accurately collect and measure various dimensions such as bridge, eye size, temple length, seg heights, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt
- Dispense glasses and contact lens orders following established processes
- Repair and adjust patient frames as needed
Requirements
- Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year in a customer-facing role or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Favorable results on background checks as required by state
- Ability to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- ABO and NCLE certifications preferred but not required
