About the role
An Optical Technician with US Eye is an exciting opportunity to learn on the job in an industry that combines the love of retail and medical devices. This role is ideal for a strong customer service professional looking to enter high-end optical retail. Detail-oriented individuals with the ability to multi-task and strong customer service skills are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Listen and address the needs of patients as evidenced by company standards and policies.
- Answer phones and communicate patient needs to Opticians and Optical Technicians.
- Efficiently take orders for contact lenses, create contact lens encounters, and order lenses from ABB or other suppliers.
- Navigate insurance websites to assist patients with available benefits and costs associated with their plan.
- Sell and create encounters for accessories.
- Learn to use the lensometer.
- Oversee frame inventory.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent (required).
- Excellent communication and listening skills to properly address patient needs (required).
- Customer service or service-related experience is a plus (required).
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage time to meet deadlines.
Schedule
This is a full-time position based in Bluffton, SC, with days and hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Travel to other locations, such as Lady’s Island and Hilton Head, may be necessary.
